AR Packaging App

We develop the “AR PACKAGING APP” in which we offer the technology industry assistance in shipping and assembling complex machines, devices or parts thereof. The recipient of the case, in which the part is packaged, should receive help and explanation on how to unpack and assemble the parts. The “AR Packaging App” helps the recipient with this by giving step-by-step instructions, which are made by the shipper during packing.

Step 1: Instructions

An employee who has to ship a machine can place actions, instructions and comments around a 3D model of a machine / device / packaging through a portal. These comments are posted via the portal in an editor. Within the portal, a 3D object of the final machine can be placed and also a 3D model of the packaged variant. The producer can place actions in a correct order in the portal.

    Iedere stap slaat de medewerker op als een vorm van 3D PowerPoint. Als de medewerker klaar is en het product volledig is ingepakt, slaat de medewerker de handelingen op en geeft deze een klantcode.

Step 2: Unpack the package using app instructions

When the customer receives the package and enters the code within the app, he opens the manual. He starts scanning the marker on the packaging. At that point, the XYZ coordinates of the packaged 3D model are tracked. The app can display all operations for unpacking in the correct position in the packaging. The customer also removes a marker from the packaging and places it on the “0 position” where the final product should be placed. The user also makes a scan of this marker. The XYZ coordinates of the 3D model are tracked and the assembly operations are displayed step by step in the environment. The customer follows step by step the instructions for correctly unpacking and assembling a product. The actions are listed in sequence. The order can be determined in the portal. In this way, a manual can be made by the user for each unique machine. This is a tool where organizations can independently create installation manuals in 3D Augmented Reality. It is sustainable because in a number of cases the flying in of a specialist has become superfluous.
